Model Description
The Leica MP2 was a motorized development of the M2 rather than a version of the earlier MP. Only 27 cameras are represented. The body was modified to work with an electric motor drive capable of advancing the film at approximately 3.5 frames per second. Motor connections and the altered winding mechanism were incorporated into the camera, with power supplied externally. The MP2 remained a very small experimental production but established practical work that continued in the M2-M and the later motorized M4 variants.
