Model Description
The M6J was made in 1994 to mark forty years of the Leica M system. 1,640 cameras were produced, arranged as forty cameras for each of the forty-one years numbered 1954 through 1994. The body combined M6 exposure metering with several M3-derived exterior details. Its most important technical distinction was the approximately 0.85× finder, providing greater rangefinder magnification than the standard M6. Frames were provided for 35mm, 50mm, 90mm and 135mm lenses. The camera was supplied with a matching collapsible 50mm f/2.8 Elmar.
