Model Description
The Leica IIg was intended as the II-series counterpart to the IIIg: a coupled-rangefinder body using the improved later finder but without the IIIg’s slow-speed mechanism. It never became a normal production model. Only 19 cameras are represented in the records, consistent with its status as a very small experimental or pre-production group. By this stage the M3 and M2 had already established the M bayonet system, leaving little reason to expand the older screw-mount range with another simplified model.
