Model Description
The Leica IIc used the post-war IIIc body construction but omitted the separate slow-speed shutter mechanism. It retained the coupled rangefinder and ordinary optical finder, making it a conventional photographic camera rather than a technical body. The vacant position on the front distinguishes it from the IIIc. Leitz could convert a IIc to fuller IIIc specification, reflecting the considerable amount of common construction between the models. The IIc continued Leica’s practice of offering a less elaborate II-series camera beside the fully equipped III-series model.
